Youth Leadership Development Program
Organization background

Started in 2016, Youth Leadership Development Program's (YLDP) mission is to develop today's youth into tomorrow's talent, with community leadership and leadership skills to join the workforce. While schools focus on developing children's technical and STEM skills, it is equally important to teach children to effectively communicate their thoughts and ideas. YLDP focuses on encouraging children to improve their communication and interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, leading to higher confidence and enabling them to set higher expectations for themselves in a classroom setting.

Project background

YLDP programs focus on public speaking, emotional intelligence and mindfulness. The program duration is 10 weeks (meeting once a week) and it is offered 4 times per year. As of 2018, there were 40-50 students in each batch.
