Organization background
Yoga Gives Back (YGB) is an organization focused on
supporting women and children in West Bengal and Karnataka in India.
Since 2006, they have partnered with three NGOs in India to
carry out YGB's programs: Sister Aid and SHE.
Sister Aid is a microfinance program that provides microloans to
impoverished mothers and primary education for their young daughters.
Funds from Sister Aid also goes towards supporting a residential home for
abandoned children. SHE (Scholarship for Higher Education) provides
disadvantaged youths with five-year college scholarships.
Project background
YGB partners with Shaktidhama, a women's shelter in Mysore that
houses children, between the ages of 8 and 20, who come from
very poor and socially oppressed communities in Central and
Northern Karnataka.
Since 2018, through its
Sister Aid program, YGB has been supporting 50 girls by providing
shelter, food and education in an effort to break the intergenerational
cycle of poverty and oppression.

- 2022: Support for 75 under-served girls at Shaktidhama, Mysore
- 2023-2024: Scholarships for 140 students at Deenbandhu school for poor children, Bangalore
