Religion News Foundation
Organization background

Founded in 1999, Religion News Foundation (RNF) is an independent educational & secular non profit organization whose mission is to strengthen and improve the understanding of religion, the public discourse of religion, advance religious literacy and support religious journalism. It seeks to achieve this mission through storytelling, films, videos, podcasts, training workshops, student & cultural exchanges, events, programs and other initiatives.

RNF wholly owns Religion News Service (RNS), through which it provides news coverage of religion, faith and belief. It strives to inform, illuminate, and inspire public discourse on matters relating to belief and convictions in a neutral and informative way, without endorsing or promoting any particular belief system or point of view.

Project background

Through its news coverage and stories, RNS seeks to cover the broad landscape of religion, faith & spirituality; its impact on societies, worldwide and the way in which religion is central to many of the issues that top agendas in the US and abroad, without aligning to a particular religion or belief system.

RNS has in-house expertise on most major faith traditions including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Sikhism, however, it lacks such expertise on Hinduism. RNS requires an expert to provide balanced coverage on Hindu cultural practices, and the community's integration into various societies.
