Organization background
Founded in 1982, Project Hospitality
(PH) is a food pantry and community service organization in Staten Island, NY.
They have been providing services to homeless individuals for over 39 years
and have grown to become the largest provider of social services on Staten
Island, serving 40,000 people per year.
Their services provide a continuum of care including providing
access to housing, food, mental health treatment programs,
HIV care, legal assistance, benefits outreach and more.
They also adminster government grants and assist households in applying
for emergeny financial assistance.
Project background
Due to COVID-19 and Hurricane IDA, the number of people
seeking assistance has greatly increased.
Housing instability, food insecurity combined with the
backdrop of intergenerational urban poverty,
exacerbated by the ongoing economic impacts of the global pandemic,
has increased the need for PH's services.

- 2019: Support for the food pantry
- 2021: Support for outreach to 2000 households, food for 3500 people, and
connecting 250 families to PH's services
