Organization background
For many decades, the Nattarasankottai Choultry
(built by Thiru Periannan Chettiyar during times of Marudhu Pandiyar kings [1790-1805] in Sivaganga district,
near Madurai)
has been supporting pilgrims on pilgrimages, and also
providing social assistance to rural and disadvantaged people
in Tamil Nadu, India.
This Choultry is now being managed by Kannathal Foundation (KF).
The organization's goals are to promote the Indian culture;
the preservation of monuments, places, objects of artistic
or historic interest; provide food & medical relief;
educational assistance for the underprivileged;
animal welfare and the environment.
Project background
In the Sivaganga district, there is a large homeless population
- senior citizens, orphans and people with physical & mental disabilities.
As a means of providing assistance to this population, KF intends
to conduct Annadanam (providing food) to 100 people daily at the
Choultry.

- 2021-2024: Partial funding for Annadanam
