India Literacy Project (ILP) was founded in 1990 to

employing high quality, low cost and replicable interventions to
address gaps in the education system. They work closely with the
local government to provide access to schools in areas where there are
no schools and transform them into learning spaces that encourage
children to easily obtain age-appropriate skills & enable teachers to be
more effective. They also provide career counseling to children to
empower them to achieve their dreams.
Project background
ILP has a framework called "Multi-Dimensional Learning Spaces" to
enable learning in multiple ways.
- A unique, innovative low-cost science kit designed to teach
science through real world concepts and in experiential ways,
mapped to the school curriculum and learning
- Child friendly libraries with books in multiple languages
enabling children to improve reading levels
- Digital lesson plans for teachers that incorporates
audio/video components to explain concepts in the curriculum
- Career guidance sessions for students, exposing them to
career options and pathways
ILP has found that there has been a 50% increase in understanding
of science concepts amidst students due to this program,
