Organization background

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) is an educational and advocacy organization established in 2003 focused on raising awareness about Hindus and Hinduism. HAF's educational programming is curated & academically vetted. Lesson plans are compliant with the Common Core, and include teaching materials, student resources and classroom presentations. HAF also provides professional development opportunities for anyone interested in teaching about Hinduism and India. HAF has also created long-lasting partnerships with educational stakeholders, including universities, social studies councils, historical, civic and geographical organizations to improve programming.

Project background

Since 2013, HAF has offered teacher training and professional development opportunities that have enabled curriculum supervisors and educators to enhance content & assessment materials and improve their accuracy & cultural proficiency when teaching Hinduism.
